The University of Hradec Králové, Czech public university, and its Faculty of Informatics and Management (FIM) is offering three programs (Applied Informatics, Information Management and Information and Knowledge Management) that are designed for International students.

Bachelor Programmes in English, Full time studies

APPLIED INFORMATICS:

The Bachelor´s degree study programme in Applied Informatics provides the grounding necessary for careers in computer systems (including both hardware and software aspects) and in sophisticated applications of computers. It also provides a substantial background for the follow-on Master´s degree programme.

INFORMATION MANAGEMENT:

The Bachelor’s degree study programme in Information Management is particularly well suited to students who wish to understand the problems of information management systems with quantitative precision. The programme provides preparation for graduate study in information management, while at the same time providing students with a competitive advantage in the labour market directly after graduation. A number of elective subjects are included in the curriculum so that the student may concentrate on management, information technology or operations research.

Master Programmes in English, Full time studies

APPLIED INFORMATICS:

The Master’s degree programme in Applied Informatics is a follow-up two-year study programme to the Bachelor studies in Applied Informatics or some other close fields of studies. It combines subjects from the core fields of Computing and related areas, Information Systems and Software Engineering, Image Processing as well as Communication Technologies. Necessary skills in the field of designing and building secure information systems, information and knowledge technologies, as well as methods of collecting, structuring and evaluating large quantities of data will be developed. The options of some background in the associate disciplines of managerial psychology and economics are offered as facultative courses for students as well.

INFORMATION MANAGEMENT:

The Master’s degree programme in Information Management develops necessary skills in the field of management science, information and knowledge technologies, as well as in methods for collecting, structuring and evaluating large quantities of data. It also provides a strong background in the associated disciplines of managerial psychology and economics.

Economic-management skills are an integral part of all fields of studies, along with a heavy emphasis put on the effective use of modern information technologies.

Uniqueness of the programs:

The quality of teaching, provided in a friendly environment of informal communication, is the one of the factors contributing to the growing number of candidates applying for study at FIM. The demand to study at FIM usually exceeds the capacity and only the high performing students are selected.

Tuition Fee:

• 3000 Euro/year for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes
• 4000 Euro/year for Doctoral degree programme
