This International Relations and Diplomacy graduate program takes full advantage of Prague’s central location in Europe. Intercultural communication and diplomatic protocol are emphasized in a curriculum delivered by an international faculty of experts and professionals. Students learn to critically assess, evaluate, and compare issues in international affairs, law, negotiation, government, economics, and education.

Globalization has created a new type of international relationship, and is adding new dimensions to the art and practice of diplomacy. The M.A. in International Relations and Diplomacy program teaches students to identify geopolitical trends, conflicts and social movements with high proficiency in research methods.


Admission requirements:

  • Evidence of high school graduation (notarized copy of a High School Diploma)
  • Essay on “Professional Objectives and Interests”
  • CV
  • Two Letters of Recommendation
  • Any of the minimum qualifying English language test scores below (non-native speakers only): (TOEFL (525 on paper-based test, 197 on computer-based, 71 on Internet-based, FCE (B),CAE (C),IELTS (6)
  • An interview (conducted in person or by phone)

Freemoving applicants are required to submit:

  • Official transcript
  • Application Form
  • Copy of ID or passport
  • 2 passport photographs

Applicants who do not meet the required language test score can be accepted into our one-semester Intensive Academic English Program.

 

Your Degree and After

  • Having completed all program requirements, students are conferred a Magistr (Mgr.) degree, the equivalent of a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree
  • Our graduates are prepared for success in curation of the arts, cultural diplomacy and institutions, publishing in arts history and critique, tourism, education in the human sciences, and mass media.
  • AAU graduates are encouraged to apply for Ph.D. programs at private and public universities in the Czech Republic
