The goal of doctoral study is preparing graduates for scientifically or artistically creative work.By attaining higher qualifications including the knowledge of foreign languages PhD graduates will significantly increase their career opportunities. Doctoral studies can be prematurely terminated by the student, on the basis of a written application. In the case of long-term neglect of responsibilities, the studies can be terminated by a decision of the Dean or the Director of the institute. It is possible, with the agreement of the Supervisor and the appropriate Branch Board, to complete the study programme in a shorter time.

Application for enrolment should have attached

• A curriculum vitae
• Documentation of attained education and any professional experience to date
• A summary of published works, other results of professional work, and - if applicable - an appraisal of these publications

Admission requirements

• Master’s or engineer´s degree (not only a bachelor´s degree)
• Two letters of recommendation written by professors or respected professionals in the field of study you are applying for
• Portfolio of design or other projects and/or theoretical works in the field of study you are applying for (non-European applicants could optionally send the portfolio on cd - format A3 dpi 300)
• Proof of language ability in English for those students whose mother tongue is not English and/or who have not followed their secondary and tertiary education in English
• Proof of health insurance will be requested at the beginning of each semester

All the documents shall be in English. Documents in other language shall be officially translated and their translation shall be certified.
